Escaping Time

Poster Series

Time is an illusion. This poster series is a personal project that explores the concept of time and the emotions that accompany it when we feel we have too much time or not enough.

The backgrounds are digitally painted and each background corresponds to a different theme for each poster. Red and bright pink along with straight lines forming a grid represents restriction and not having enough time to accomplish every task for the day.

Purple, blue and green swirling lines fill the canvas along with numbers layered on top of each other in poster two. This alludes to how time goes by quickly and becomes a blur.

The words on the canvas begin to hold more meaning and resonate more than the hours and minutes on a clock in poster three. We see different words and phrases on the poster. “Fabricated, “All or nothing,” “Taking Flight.” They all make the viewer question time and how rational the concept actually is. The orange and yellow hues in the poster are freeing. Although time may be fleeting today, tomorrow is a new beginning.
